In short
  • Pump track: an artificially shaped loop to improve technique — ideal for beginners and kids. The goal is to gain speed by "pumping" your body into the berms, without pedalling.
  • Trail: a natural path or track shared by bikers and hikers alike.
  • Single trail: a narrow path suitable only for riding single file.
  • Line: an artificially shaped trail without roots and stones — smooth and predictable.
  • Jump line: a line with jumps and obstacles (requires more advanced technique).
  • Flow: the feeling of light, smooth riding — like on a rollercoaster.

Start on the green lines — especially JOYLINE, our longest smooth flow line — or on the pump track, where you can safely learn the basics. If you want to build confidence faster, the bike school offers courses for complete beginners.

Kids have their own shorter trails (DRAGON, HUSKY, YIPPY), a kids' pump track and a bike playground right in the base camp. The bike school also runs kids' courses, and in the rental you'll find kids' bikes in every size.

Yes, without restrictions. Ideally the e-bike should be a full-suspension MTB, properly maintained and in good technical condition — the trails are hard on equipment.

No. As soon as the bike season ends, the trails are no longer maintained and may not be used — for safety reasons and to protect the terrain.

In the summer season, bike transport is available on:

  • Lift (main ascent to the base camp and trails)
  • Telemix
  • Buly Expres

Day tickets, season passes and single ascents are available. You'll find current prices in the Price list.

Approximate daily hours
  • Lift: 8:30 – 16:45
  • Telemix: 9:00 – 16:00
  • Buly Expres: depending on operation

You'll find exact, up-to-date hours by month and weather in the Opening hours section.

The ticket includes transport up to all trails designated for bikes. It only covers the ascent — riding down on the lift is not included (you ride down the trail).

If you ride regularly, definitely. A season pass means unlimited rides throughout the whole season at a much better price than single tickets. You'll find categories and prices in the Price list.

If operations close due to weather, we handle a refund or extension of validity individually — just ask at the ticket office. Check the trail status on the website before your visit.

Yes. At weekends and on public holidays a shuttle with bike transport runs between Banská Bystrica and Donovaly — three times a day in each direction, €4 one way. Departure times and conditions are in the Parking section.

No. At the ROSE rental you can hire a quality bike and complete gear — from kids' bikes through enduro to e-bikes. Just show up.

Yes, a helmet is mandatory on all trails. We strongly recommend pads too (back, knees, elbows) — everything can be rented right on site.

Yes — right in the base camp. Minor repairs, tyre inflation and basic adjustments we usually handle while you wait. There's also a bike wash available.

There are several car parks by the base camp (P1 – P5). From the car park it's just a few minutes' walk to the lift.

Yes — a bistro, bar and coffee stand are right at the trail finish and the lift.

A dog on a leash is welcome in the area. For safety reasons, however, it can't go on the trails or the lift.
